4 Indie Albums to Listen to by the Pool

When summer arrives, I think it’s important to create moments that turn into lasting memories. Whether it’s spending time with friends, relaxing after a long day, or enjoying a quiet afternoon in the water, there’s something special about slowing down and appreciating the season. For me, music has always been one of the best ways to make those moments feel unforgettable.

In today’s blog post, I want to talk about indie albums that are perfect for listening to by the pool. Last summer was one of the best summers of my life, and a huge part of that experience came from the music I played while swimming at sunset or relaxing near the water in the evening. Some albums simply capture the feeling of summer better than others, and these four records have become personal favorites of mine.

One of those albums is Fuzzybrain by Dayglow, an incredible bedroom pop record that feels made for warm summer days. The album is full of colorful melodies, nostalgic sounds, and energetic songwriting that instantly puts you in a better mood. Personally, I loved listening to it while swimming in the pool because of how alive and uplifting it feels from beginning to end.

Another album I highly recommend is Beast Epic by Iron & Wine. This record has a peaceful and comforting atmosphere that works beautifully during calm summer afternoons. Songs like Summer Clouds and About a Bruise create a relaxing mood that can help clear your mind and make you appreciate the moment a little more. It’s the kind of album that feels warm and intimate without ever becoming boring.

In a somewhat similar style, there’s SABLE, fABLE by Bon Iver, which many listeners consider one of the standout indie releases of 2025. I honestly think this album is brilliant because it combines a calm, emotional atmosphere with more experimental production choices that keep the music exciting and fresh. It’s relaxing enough for a poolside evening, but still creative enough to fully capture your attention.

Finally, there’s Home of Sanity (the playlist) by Oscar Anton, another bedroom pop album that feels perfect for summer. What I enjoy most about this record is how it manages to sound both energetic and relaxing at the same time. It creates an atmosphere of joy, freedom, and comfort that fits perfectly with long sunny days and warm nights by the pool.
